Hello! We are Rob and Kirstin, and we’re very grateful you’re taking time to learn about us as you reflect on the future for yourself and your child.

Ours is a classic tale of high school sweethearts: we fell in love against a backdrop of theatre productions, live music, coffee shops, road trips, and conversations about life’s big questions. By senior year, we were co-editors of the student paper. In 2000, six years after our first date, we threw a big party for our New Year’s Eve wedding, surrounded by our dear ones. Since 2002, we’ve lived in a small, rural city in southwest Michigan, where we continue to host gatherings, enjoy life, and serve our community.

As teenagers planning a future together, we could not have imagined how our love for each other would grow and deepen, and we can’t wait to share this abundance of love with a child. We’ve dreamed of becoming parents for a long time and adoption feels like a natural choice for us. In fact, we discussed growing our family through adoption as teens-in-love and we have a large community of family and friends rooting for us to become parents for the first time.

Many expectant mothers qualify for financial assistance to cover basic pregnancy and living expenses, including but not limited to - transportation reimbursement, utility assistance for phone, water, and electricity/gas, maternity clothing and supplements, etc.

FAQ’s about placing a baby for Adoption

How do I give up my baby for adoption?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions.

But even earlier than that: we always knew we wanted to be parents, sharing our dreams with one another as high school sweethearts of building our family through a combination of pregnancy and adoption. After seven years of trying unsuccessfully to become pregnant through various means, we were excited to shift our attention toward adoption in November 2016. Over the next couple of years, we raised money, read books, built a relationship with an agency, and prepared ourselves to be the best parents we can be as we seek to honor a child and their birth family through adoption.

The process was intense, for sure, but the wait has been the hardest part of all. After so many years, it's hard to remain hopeful some days, but we know in our hearts that the right birth mom will find us and we can't wait to meet her.

For us, adoption was never our "second choice." We're thankful to have many friends whose lives have been enriched by adoption—as adoptees, as adoptive parents, and as birth mothers. It's just one way we partner with each other in the great human family, and one way we'll continue to fill our home with love and joy.
